Instructions of Use
Intended Use
This wrench was designed for use in dental applications. It should only be used by qualified personnel.
It is used to screw in dental implants and to extract them at pre-adjusted torque levels.
Instructions
Setting the dental torque wrench: The desired amount of torque can be set with the adjustment nut.
A scale in front of the wrench indicates the amount of torque that can be applied at that setting. 5 Ncm increments are clearly marked on the sides of the scale (from 10 to 45 Ncm).
Blocking the Torque: Setting the torque to its maximum effectively disables the torque feature. Do not screw too tightly.
TIP
Force should only be applied at the head of the adjustment nut.
When reaching the desired torque, the wrench bends around the pivot
in the ratchet head and gives off an audible click. At this point stop pressing on the wrench โ otherwise it will be damaged.
The wrench will return to its normal orientation when you stop applying force.
Maintenance
The wrenches are not sterilized prior to shipping.
They must be cleaned, disinfected and sterilized before use.
When cleaning, do not use abrasive detergents and do not apply excessive pressure.
To avoid damage do not clean with a wire brush or metal pads, use only cleaning and disinfectant solutions with a PH between 5 and 10.
Please follow the cleaning/disinfectant manufacturerโs instructions
Frequent but careful cleaning has little effect on the life of the ratchet.
Product life is determined by wear.
Re-calibrate the wrench once a year. The wrench must be cleaned and sterilized after service.
Cleaning and Disinfection
Washer / Disinfector โ Place the cleaned dental torque wrench parts in a wire basket. Do not overload the basket. Start the program. Rinsing is typically followed by a chemical cleaning at 40โฐ to 60โฐC. The chemical residue is cleaned by another rinse cycle. Corrosion due to neutralizing agents must be avoided. Disinfection is reached at 90โฐ to 95โฐC. Parts are then treated with de-ionized water followed by drying.
The parts should be removed from the washer / disinfector immediately after the end of the program.
Post-Cleaning Maintenance, Control, and Functional Testing โ
Cool the parts down to room temperature and visually inspect the parts for residues and other contamination. If necessary, repeat the cleaning process.
Apply a tiny drop of handpiece oil to the parts drawing (joint & thread)
Assemble the wrench and functionally test it.
Recommended Sterilization Method
- Loosen the ratchet completely prior to sterilization
- Method fractionated pre-vacuum process (according to ISO 17665)
- Temperature Heat up to 134โฐC (137โฐC Maximum)
- Pressure 3 pre-vacuum phases with at least 60 millibar pressure
- Holding Time at least 5 minutes
- Drying Time at least 10 minutes
- After sterilization checks the packaging of the sterilized instruments for damage. Check the sterilization indicators.
Storage
Store the sterilized wrenches in a dry, dust-free, corrosive vapor-free area at a moderate temperature.
Warning
Do not loosen the Adjustment Nut Screws, as that will cause torque loss and a loss of calibration.
